December 3rd, 4pm
Downtown Alvarado Transportation Center
1st & Central

This Thursday we are celebrating locally-owned businesses, urban transportation, and the revitalization of Historic Route 66 as we march with 'Burque pride to the 15th Annual Nob Hill Shop & Stroll. This is a wonderfully healthy thing for the body, mind and spirit.
Please join us as we put Albuquerque on the map as a leader of sustainable economy, energy, and independent thinking. We are a progressive City of creatives on the move, and that is worth celebrating!
Forecast calls for blue skies, but please remember to dress warmly, and wear your walking shoes. This trek is just under 2 miles, (3K for those of you reading along from foreign lands. TIP: Coming to America? Visit Albuquerque!). A hat and gloves are a good idea.
This is an all-ages, all-fitness-levels event. Rest assured that you have a ride to or from the event if you need to take a break. Simply stand at an ABQ Ride or Rapid Ride stop, and wait for the next bus. Dial 311 for free and ask for the time of the next arrival. Frequency is approximately every 10 minutes. Event shuttle service is also available courtesy of the Nob Hill Business Association.

LIVE at the University of New Mexico's Popejoy Hall, The Wedding Singer. It is 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Heart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party, until his own fiancé leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own.
When he meets an admiring young waitress, it’s love at first sight. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. With a score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980s, The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room.

Outpost Performance Space & 516 ARTS present DJ Spooky and Paul D. Miller’s large scale multimedia work, Terra Nova: Sinfonia Antarctica, an acoustic portrait of a rapidly changing continent, transforming Miller's first-person encounter with the harsh, dynamic landscape of Antarctica into visual and sonic portraits.
Miller's field recordings captured the acoustic qualities of Antarctic ice forms and reflect a changing--even vanishing--environment under duress. Coupled with historic, scientific and geographical visual material, Terra Nova: Sinfonia Antarctica is a 70-minute performance, which creates a unique and powerful moment around man's relationship with nature.
In addition to video projections and DJ Spooky on turntables, the performance also features local chamber musicians, Linda Vik, violin; Katie Harlow, cello; Debbie Briggs, piano; and Joasia Morska-Osinska, violin. Terra Nova follows DJ Spooky's highly acclaimed multimedia/film/performance piece, DJ Spooky's Rebirth of a Nation, which he recently toured worldwide.
